The Big Pitch

In a Deliveroo rider survey, almost 40% of you said you wanted to start your own business. So we decided to help make that happen. Whether it was a tech startup or a new taco sauce, we gave riders the chance to pitch their ideas to leading investors and Deliveroo co-founder and CEO Will Shu.

How it worked

Thousands of riders told us about their big idea by completing an application form. In the form, they told us about their business or concept and how much investment they were looking for.

The Deliveroo team reviewed and shortlisted the applications. The shortlisted riders were invited to a one day workshop led by expert Deliveroo business mentors to help them prepare for Pitch day.

Finally, each shortlisted rider pitched to our panel, made up of some of the world’s leading investors, including DST Global, Accel Ventures and Index Ventures.
